Stump Grinding/Stump Removal – After the cutting and removal of an unwanted or damaged tree, you are left with an unsightly stump fixed right in the middle of your property. This, not only, can have a lazy appearance but can also be somewhat hazardous. The removal of a tree stump is no easy task. If you are in no hurry to have your stump removed then you can simply allow for nature to takes its course until it can be more easily removed with an axe, a pickaxe and a shovel. As easy as it’s supposed to be, it never is. This decaying process (decomposition) is not recommended considering, depending on it’s diameter, it can take years for the stump to be in the ample phase for ‘manual removal’ or (by hand).

Also, with a chemical drilling process you can be assured that it will still take months before it is time for you revisit your project then to find yourself vigorously hacking at it, again, with a pickaxe. Nonetheless, ‘efficiency’ is NOT a strong point of this removal process.

To maintain efficiency in your stump removal, “grinding” the stump works best and can be done safely and quickly in a very short period of time, with the proper planning, precautions and experience. All American Tree Service has been using the mechanical stump removal process or “stump grinding” for nearly 2 decades. Grinding a stump is simple to explain but a doozy to accomplish. Sub-ground level depth of the stumps head must also be considered so that future usage and growth of the area can be free and clear of any problems that may ‘spring’ up on you next season.

There is much to be aware of and to watch out for while stump grinding. Many things can arise. Without a proper understanding of this process and the machinery, things can get very messy, very quickly. Not to mention… dangerous! There is always a surprise with any tree and stump removal situation. That is why safety is our greatest focus and our biggest concern. Proper precautions must be taken for the safety of your home and property, those within and of our crew involved! If it is not a safe zone, we will make it safe before the shovel cuts your ground.

Once your tree stump has been removed properly, the use of your yard can now be intelligently considered. The natural re-growth of the surrounding grass, a garden or even another tree can be planted in the cleaned area.
